William Stone is the founder and creative director of Obsidian Dreamhouse, an independent comic publisher dedicated to creating bold new universes where mythology, science fiction, horror, and heartfelt storytelling collide.
A U.S. Navy veteran and graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, William believes the best stories do more than entertain. They challenge perspectives, inspire hope, and remind readers that even ordinary people can rise to extraordinary destinies.
His storytelling is inspired by creators who constantly push the medium forward. Writers such as Al Ewing, Scott Snyder, Mark Waid, and Neil Gaiman have influenced his love for expansive world-building, mythology, philosophy, and emotionally driven narratives. Artists and storytellers like Todd McFarlane, Tite Kubo, and Kentaro Miura have shaped his appreciation for unforgettable character design, cinematic action, and the balance between spectacle and deeply personal storytelling.
Those influences come together in the worlds of Obsidian Dreamhouse. From the supernatural space western of Soul Blaster, to the psychological battles of Dreamwalker, and the mythology-spanning epic of The Lost Pact, every story is built with the same philosophy: create characters worth believing in, worlds worth exploring, and mysteries that invite readers to keep turning the page.
William founded Obsidian Dreamhouse with one mission: to build an interconnected universe of original stories that stand proudly beside the comics and manga that inspired him. Every issue is another step toward creating modern myths for a new generation of readers.
